Class 1 Learning Journey

Salaam un Alaikum parents,

Inshallah this email finds you well.

Our lesson on 12th January was based on the topic ‘Allah is everywhere, knows everything and he is the most powerful’.

Ayah: surat al-Baqarah, 2:115

Fa aynama tuwallu fa thamma wajhullah – so wherever you turn, Allah is there.

We watched a video: Misri bunch Hide & seek. The children really enjoyed this and had a good giggle… Someone also asked for popcorn! More importantly they understood the message the video clip was portraying.. Allah is everywhere and can see everything.

We then discussed how Allah knows everything as he is Al-Aleem – the all-knowing.

The final session around our topic of discussion included using models/props to narrate the event of ashab al-feel. The children made little balls out of playdough to mimic stones the bird carried in their beaks. They then had the opportunity to take part in the story as characters (the birds) to throw their little ‘stones’ onto the soldiers and elephants in turn destroying the army of Abrahah with the explanation that although the army of soldiers and elephants were stronger then the birds carrying the little stones, the Ka’bah was saved because it belongs to Allah, the most powerful and he protected it.

I hope you find this information useful and will help us to help continue the learning at home inshallah.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

With Salaams and duas,

Sukaina
